In 1986 Rudy left IBM to found CMS Manufacturing Systems and was CEO up to the merger with XKO Software in 2007 when the company was renamed Solarsoft Business Systems. Michael started at York University in 1998 as Professor of Chemistry and NSERC/MDS SCIEX (now Analytical Technologies) Industrial Research Chair in Analytical Mass Spectrometry. He is the Founding Director of the Centre for Research in Mass Spectrometry, York University.
